The nomadic lifestyles of our primitive ancestors developed the genes which predispose us to benefit from active recreation as a powerful antidote to the pressures and hazards of modern living.
This is the premise on which Walkabout Holidays was created; to offer companionship, fitness and satisfaction through walking holidays that offer adventure and challenge.
The company offers walking holidays with customized programs for people of similar fitness, age and ambition, private group holidays for 8 or more participants, hotel accommodations and a variety of itineraries…
“Walking Holidays are offered in Wales, England, France or Spain, all in areas of unique character with superb walking country, easily accessible by road, rail and air. The chosen months are when the weather conditions are best for walking in the hills, and also avoid the busiest tourist seasons.
Wales
* In Wales we are based in the village of Llanberis, a place which has rich historical links with mountaineering and with Wales.
* The walking holidays in Wales are available throughout Spring and Autumn, when the weather is more likely to be dry and sunny, and the Welsh hills are at their best.
England
* The weekend walking holidays in England are based in the outstanding natural beauty and diversity of The Lake District.
* “I wandered lonely as a cloud” … walk the paths that Wordsworth walked.
France
* For the walking holidays in France we base ourselves in the Chamonix during the early part of July and again in late August and September.
* Get the best of both worlds by avoiding the crowded Summer season, yet still taking advantage of the lack of deep snow permitting the re-opening of mountain huts and paths.
Spain
* We offer a choice of bases for the Spanish walking holidays but all are located within a short drive of the hills, mountains and coastal paths where the walking takes place.
* We stay in hotels offering ensuite, half board accommodation with either single, double or twin rooms.
Most of the hotels we stay in have swimming pools and a host of other amenities.”

Whether hiking trails through the mountains or relaxing on a hammock in the Costa Dorada of Spain, it seems every activity is equivalent to an outdoor adventure in certain geographical locations. In Spain, being outdoors is a way of life no matter what region you reside, visit, or frequent.
Sounds like a good, healthy way to look at life! Thanks for the addition, and for coming by.
