The Mediterranean is a wonderful choice for a vacation. There are so many things to see in this astonishing region that a long vacation is the best way to go. Of course, lengthy vacations can be expensive so if you want to get the best Mediterranean vacation for your money, you might consider a Mediterranean cruise.

Because there is so much to see in the Mediterranean, cruise travel offers more flexibility in seeing more of the sights of Europe than would be available by traditional means of travel. Traveling by sea will allow you from go port to port and save valuable time that would be wasted if going over land…

When it comes to vacations, time is money. You can spend a set amount on your cruise travel package and see all this region has to offer, instead of paying to travel there and then to go from country to country in order to see all the attractions.

In the Mediterranean, you can revisit history from atop the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, go to the house of the Virgin Mary, or Ephesus. The Mediterranean holds timeless treasures you have only read about in books. The heart of the world, the Mediterranean Sea is the soul of France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, and many other countries.

With over 2,000 islands, the only restriction you will have is time in visiting this region; other than that, there are limitless options. The most difficult part will be deciding where to go first.

Cruise travel will not only save you time but it will save you money as well. On a Mediterranean cruise, you will not have to pay for additional food every time you take port, nor will you have to pay for additional lodging. You have your hotel with you everywhere you go! If you decide to stay onboard instead of venturing off the boat, you will also have a massive amount of entertainment at your fingertips, all at no extra charge.

On a Mediterranean cruise, you can relax in comfort as you slowly cruise from port to port. While on board you can enjoy all the luxury of a first class cruise including first class food, recreational activities and more. You can visit historical locations by day and take advantage of pampering and entertainment in the evenings and at night. You will be able to take a long cruise to allow for enough time for all of the sightseeing, as well as take in the comfort and luxury of the ship.

Seeing the Mediterranean by cruise ship is a great way to see one of the worlds most attractive regions while saving some money at the same time. Cruise travel bundles everything you need in one simple package. Your means of travel, lodging, food, and drinks are all taken care of. Not only is this more affordable, but it is less of headache, leaving you time to enjoy yourself and your surroundings.

Best Teen Cruise in the Mediterranean and Greek Islands?
I’m looking for a good cruise for teens in the Mediterranean Sea (Greek Islands, etc…) in summer 2010. I want a cruise line that has good ships for the region and has lots of activities for teens to enjoy nightlife. When I say teens I mean 15-17 year old teens. They don’t want the boring ‘children’ stuff. Any recommendations?
    Thanks in advance!

    You want easyCruise

They’re small ships but they’re really focused on giving you a good time in port, and since they have small ships you can see more of the Greek Isles.

They’re also pretty cheap, and by far the youngest cruise line. You’ll see lots of 20-somethings, few retirees.

The down-side is they don’t really have the same activities or amenities as a major cruise line. There isn’t really organized stuff to do — just the other people, destinations and hot tubs. And food isn’t included. Oh, and it’ll be full of British and other European people. But they’re not sooooo bad. ;-)

    Have a great trip!

If you go on the Princess cruises, you will find a really cool nightclub just for teens. I believe that adults can’t go there at all. Since you will be going on this cruise with an adult, then it’s really up to the adult, but you could surely make a suggestion.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go on "easy cruise" those ships are small and I have heard they really suck, its like the trailer park of the seas. Carnival has GREAT teen activities. They even have there own night club for dances. I have also been on Celebrity and Norwegian they have awesome teen programs too. But you can’t beat carnival, especially for older teens. I had a blast!

I have been on two (2) cruises to the Mediterranean among my 20 cruises total and this is what I recommend.

First, the cruise line that has THE most activities on board their ships is Royal Caribbean. They have the rock climbing wall, a full sized basketball/volleyball court, a miniature golf course, a billiards room, a great gymnasium, a covered pool and hot tub area, and for teens only area called Adventure Ocean and a video arcade.

The cruise line that we did our first Med cruise on was the Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas :

This was a 12 day cruise that departed from Barcelona and had port stops in Nice/Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples, Florence, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Ephesus, Turkey.

Our second Med cruise was on the Norwegian Gem and it did not have anywhere near the activities as the RC ship did. So I recommend the RC ship and cruise.
